The Minister of Information and Communications Technology Seyed Sattar Hashemi in a message on Wednesday marking Employee Day, stressed the role of employees as the first point of contact between the public and organizations.
Describing them as the pulse of
an organization and the voice of the people, he praised employees, particularly
for their efforts and sense of responsibility under difficult circumstances.
Full text of the ICT Minister’s
message follows:
“In the Name of God, the Most
Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Employee Day is an opportunity to
appreciate the women and men who stand on the front line of serving the people
— employees whose efforts may often go unseen, but whose services have a direct
and daily impact on people’s lives and on the functioning of the country.
I sincerely congratulate all
dedicated employees and staff across the country, particularly my colleagues at
the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology, and express my
appreciation for their efforts, sense of responsibility and patience.
I believe that employees are
among the first points of contact between the public and any organization. More
than anyone else, they listen to people, encounter their problems and concerns,
and sometimes become aware of an issue through direct conversations with the
public before it is even reflected in official reports.
From this perspective, employees
can be regarded as the first sensors of any organization — those who see and
hear the challenges, shortcomings, opportunities and changes in society sooner
than others.
During the difficult days of the
war, too, many of these efforts were carried out behind the scenes. Employees
quietly and responsibly remained at their posts to keep communications running,
ensure that services were not interrupted, and enable the people, businesses
and various institutions of the country to carry on with their affairs.
In particular, at the Ministry of
Information and Communications Technology, the continuity of the country’s
services under such circumstances was the result of the round-the-clock efforts
of colleagues who received little recognition but never for a moment stepped
away from their responsibilities.
I urge all my colleagues to
continue to maintain their spirit of service, patience and forbearance towards
the people under today’s difficult circumstances, and to convey to managers
what they hear from the public, whether complaints or suggestions. No management
statistic or report can replace hearing the people’s voice directly.
As an employee myself, albeit in
a different position, I consider myself a listener to and a follower of my
colleagues’ concerns. I will therefore continue efforts to improve working and
welfare conditions, because I believe that an organization that wants to hear
the voice of the people must first listen to the voice of its own employees.
Happy Employee Day to all those
who serve the people.
Seyed Sattar Hashemi
Minister of Information and
Communications Technology”
